Our team of cyclists arrived at The Menin Gate on Wednesday 19th April and laid a wreath on behalf of Haig Housing Trust and Hidden Warriors CIC at the evening ceremony at the Gate hosted by The Last Post Association.
Ride to the Gate 2023 started at The National Memorial Arboretum in Staffordshire on Monday 17th April. The team has cycled 300+ miles over 3 days raising funds for Veterans.
WO2 Gavin Tuach of Commando Logistics Regiment RMB Chivenor, the Founder and Director of Hidden Warriors CIC, is both the organiser and a participant. In addition to fundraising for two very worthy organisations, the event also helps to keep the act of Remembrance alive with each bike carrying a Poppy Wreath throughout.
Menin Gate under maintenance but the ceremony still continues.

The team cycling with Gavin are Royal Navy Veterans, Lee Cox, Lee Windeatt, Ian Jacques, and Army Veterans Brian Macalpine and Michael Marven, Housing Manager at Haig Housing. They are accompanied by serving Royal Navy Chief Petty Officer Steven Bolton as the support driver and Howard Dunn, an RAMC Veteran providing medical support.
This is the fifth annual cycling fundraiser organised by Gavin and was postponed from last September following the death of Her Majesty The Queen. These have so far involved over 30 members of the Armed Forces and Veterans community and raised over 100K for numerous charities.
