We are thrilled to announce that we have signed the Armed Forces Covenant pledging Haig Housing’s commitment to supporting the Armed Forces community.

Hosted in magnificent style by the Household Cavalry at Hyde Park Barracks, Air Vice-Marshal Suraya Marshall CBE Ma LLB RAF and Maria Kaya from Defence Relationship Management at the MOD were joined at the signing event by Haig beneficiaries, trustees, staff, friends and supporters.

Throughout our 100-year history Haig Housing has proudly supported the veteran community by providing homes for veterans and their families in need and we are now proud to pledge our dedication to the whole Armed Forces community, promising to ensure fair treatment and support for serving personnel, reservists, veterans and military families.

Haig Housing will soon be a Bronze member of the Employer Recognition Scheme and we are actively working towards Silver to further demonstrate our dedication to the scheme.

By signing the Covenant, we pledge to:

• Promote Haig as an Armed Forces-friendly organisation to our staff, service users, contractors, partners, other organisations we engage with and the wider public
• Support the employment of veterans, recognising military skills and qualifications in our recruitment and selection process
• Support the employment of Service spouses and partners
• Support our employees who are members of the Reserve Forces
• Support our employees who are volunteer leaders in military cadet organisations
