Haig Housing is delighted to announce the launch of a Capital Appeal to raise £3Million to build new homes for Veterans at a spectacular event at Drapers’ Hall in the City of London on the evening of 4th November. This included a special message from the Trust’s new Patron, HRH The Princess Royal, and an introductory message from the Veterans Minister, Louise Sandher-Jones MP.

Haig Housing has been transforming the lives of Veterans for nearly 100 years – providing homes where families can build a future. We want to do more for those who served.

This event marks where the hard work now starts. We welcomed guests ranging from politicians, beneficiaries, Veterans including Pensioners from the Royal Hospital Chelsea and business leaders to Army cadets, members of the press, Gurkhas and representatives from other Veterans’ charities. We were particularly pleased to be joined by descendants of Field Marshall Earl Haig’s family and plan to build on these new relationships.

Haig Housing is a hidden secret in the Veterans charity world but we are now spreading the word about the great work we do. A safe, secure home is a fundamental need for every person who has served our nation. We are therefore reaching out to you, our media, to join us on this journey: with your support and publicity we can ensure that more Veterans and their families have a decent place to live.
